WASHINGTON (November 9, 2019) – Howard University men's and women's swimming & diving teams fell to crosstown foe George Washington inside Burr Pool.
Despite the losses, HU registered a pair of victories on the day.
On the men's side, juniors
Kegan Ford (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago) and
William Speakman Smith II (Jacksonville, Fla.) and freshmen
Mark-Anthony Beckles (Chaguanas, Trinidad & Tobago) and
Arion Solomon (Fairburn, Ga.) won the 200 Free Relay, clocking in at 1:26.72.
For the women, third-year diver
Christian Nickolas (Brentwood, Calif.) captured gold in the 1-meter dive, scoring 248.53 in the event.
Other notable Bison performances included junior
Jalen Watson (Miami; 1-meter dive; 161.00), sophomore
Asha Evans (Atlanta; 50 Free; 25.07), freshmen
Miles Simon (Atlanta; 100 Back; 52.61) and
Luke-Kennedy Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas; 200 IM; 1:58.44).

On Dec. 6-7, Howard ends the first half of the season in Baltimore for the H2ounds Invitational, hosted by Loyola (Md.).
