WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Howard University men's basketball opens its 62nd season with head coach Kenneth Blakeney at the helm. The Blakeney era will tipoff Tuesday, November 5 at 5 p.m. in Burr Gymnasium versus the Washington Adventist University Shockers, with all of the action available live on hubison.com.

- The men's team will tip-off the season home-opener before the women's team, they will face LaSalle University, their tip-off will be 30 minutes after the conclusion of the men's game.
- Record Watch: Charles Williams is 139 points shy for the most career points (1,933) currently held by James Daniel.Â
- C. Williams career numbers rank in the nation: (84th in career points(1,794); 94th in scoring average; 47th field goals attempt)
- The match will be the first in the head coaching career of Kenneth Blakeney, who was named the programs 12th head coach
- Howard was picked to finish sixth in the 11-team MEAC in 2019-20, according to a poll of the leagues head coaches and sports information directors

- The meeting between Washington Adventist and Howard is the fourth, the Bison lead the series 3-1
- Howard dominated the Shockers in last season match-up, behind a strong second-half outscoring Washington Adventist 69-51, cruising to a 115-91 victory

- WAU is coming off a 22-10 finish which included a trip to the 2019 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament. It was the program's third national appearance in four years.Â
