HUNTINGTON, W.Va -- The Howard University Bison dropped the final game of the Men Against Breast Cancer Invitational, 91-63 on Thursday evening at the Cam Henderson Center to the Marshall University Fighting Herd.
Howard's Kyle Foster (Hampton, Va.) paced the Bison, scoring a team-high 14 points, connecting three-times from beyond the arc. Charles Williams (Richmond, Va.) joined Foster in double-figures recording 13 points, collecting eight free-throws. Zion Cousins (Upper Marlboro, MD) grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.
The Herd started the match on a 7-3 run when Foster downed a three-pointer to tie the game at nine with 14:54 left in the first half. Wayne Bristol Jr. backed door the run with a lay-up to take an 11-9 Howard lead.Â
The lead was short-lived as Marshall would connect on back-to-back dunks to begin a 30-8 run that ate ten-minutes off the clock to take a commanding 39-19 lead. During, that run Howard committed five turnovers, shot 3-of-12 from the floor and 0-of-3 from beyond the arc. The Herd was on fire, connecting on three three-pointers, and shooting 11-of-20 from the floor with five minutes left in the first half.Â
Howard's Ray Bethea Jr. (Atlantic City, NJ) stops the bleeding with a lay-up and a free throw to cut the lead, 39-22. The Bison and the Herd would trade baskets the rest of the way, going into intermission down 47-27.Â
Marshall continued their momentum coming out of halftime, slowly building a 71-43 lead with ten minutes remaining in regulation. Howard continued to struggle from the field, shooting 5-of-14.
In the final ten minutes, Howard traded blows with Marshall scoring 20 points to Marshall 20 points, falling 91-63.
Howard shot 18-of-55 (32.7%) to Marshall 39-of-67 (58.2%).
The Herd outshot the Bison 64-15 inside the paint and out rebounded Howard 45-to-31.Â

Howard will travel to Munice, Indiana to face the Ball State University Cardinals, for their seventh consecutive road game. Tip off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Saturday, November 23.
