NORFOLK, Va. (November 18, 2019) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its seedings for the upcoming 2019 MEAC Women's Volleyball Tournament where Howard University earned the top spot out of the league's northern division. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
HU (17-12) finished with a 14-1 mark in conference play while winning 15 of their last 17 contests.
Howard's quest for their fifth consecutive MEAC title begins Friday (Nov. 22) when they take on No. 4 (southern division) South Carolina State. The action starts at 2 p.m. inside Burr Gymnasium.
North Carolina A&T State (NCAT) claimed the No. 1 seed from the southern division after going 13-1 in MEAC play. NCAT's lone league loss came against the Bison in a five-set thriller at The Mecca (Oct. 27).

On Nov. 22-24, the 2019 MEAC Volleyball Championship will be held inside Burr Gymnasium. Competition begins Friday (Nov. 22) at 11 a.m. with the first of four quarterfinal matches. Saturday's (Nov. 23) semifinals start at 5 p.m., and Sunday's (Nov. 24) championship finale gets underway at 8 p.m. and broadcast live on ESPNU and ESPN3.
Admission for the tournament is $10 each day and $25 for all three days.
