WASHINGTON (October 7, 2019) – Howard University women's volleyball team returns to The Burr Tuesday (Oct. 8) where they will host rival Morgan State (MSU) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown. First-serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.

LAST TIMEOUT
Howard went a perfect 2-0 over the weekend at Delaware State (DSU) and at Maryland Eastern Shore to remain unbeaten in MEAC play (4-0).
Friday (Oct. 4), the Bison defeated DSU in straight sets (27-25, 25-22, 25-19) inside Memorial Hall.
Sunday (Oct. 6), HU capped off the weekend with a 3-1 victory (25-19, 21-25, 25-14, 25-21) over rival Maryland Eastern Shore inside the William P. Hytche Athletic Center.
MATCHUP PREVIEW
HOWARD
HU (7-11, 4-0 MEAC) comes in looking to remain unbeaten in MEAC play. Currently, Howard sits at top of the MEAC Northern Division and one of two squads undefeated in league play (Other: North Carolina A&T State). The squad begins a five-match home stand.
Entering Tuesday, Howard leads the MEAC in assists per set (11.37) and kills per set (12.26), led by senior
Kira Porter (Lake Tahoe, Nev.) posting a league-leading .378 hitting percentage. Freshmen setters
Semira Blair (Fort Worth, Texas) and
Kayla Diaz (Nanuet, N.Y.) round out the conference in assists per set.
MORGAN STATE
Morgan State (8-9, 2-2 MEAC) enters Tuesday's matchup sitting fourth in the MEAC Northern Division standings. Last weekend, the Lady Bears split their pair of league contests. MSU defeated North Carolina Central in four, 3-1, but fell in straight sets against North Carolina A&T State, 0-3.
Senior Roi Wallace and sophomore Zoe McBride top the conference in assists per set (9.50) and kills per set (4.62), respectively.
PROMOTIONS
Tuesday's promotion is Taco Tuesday, sponsored by El Tio Grill D.C., and the first 200 students will receive a taco at the match. Doors open at 5 p.m.
UPCOMING SEASON
Sunday (Oct. 13), Howard wraps up the Homecoming festivities when Coppin State comes to town. Match-time is set for 1 p.m. inside The Burr.
