WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Joesph Abusada knocked in a season-high two goals and
Carlos Caro grabbed seven saves en route to a 3-0 victory over the Georgia Southern University Eagles Saturday, at Greene Stadium in Washington, D.C.
The shut out was the first in conference play since 2016.
With the win Howard improves to 2-1 in conference play, Georgia Southern falls to (1-2 SBC, 6-7-2).
Howard pounced first 13 minutes into the contest when Abusada connected to the back of the net off a header off of a cross pass.
Andres Gomez connected on his seventh goal of the season, to extend the lead, 2-0 at the 55-minute mark.
Abusada scored his second goal at the 85-minute mark to put the game out of reach.
With the win, Howard is on a 3-game win streak for the first time since 2006.
Howard will be back in action on Tuesday. The Men's Soccer team will celebrate nine seniors playing in their final home match. First kick is scheduled for 1 p.m.
