WASHINGTON (October 24, 2019) – Howard University women's volleyball team ends its five-match home stand with a pair of big hitters inside Burr Gymnasium.
Friday (Oct. 25), Howard takes on North Carolina Central (NCCU) at 6 p.m., followed by a MEAC Finals rematch against North Carolina A&T State (NCAT) Sunday (Oct. 27). First-serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.

LAST TIMEOUT
Friday (Oct. 25), the Bison cruised past Norfolk State (25-18, 25-13, 25-15) and remained unblemished in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play.

Kira Porter (Lake Tahoe, Nev.) and newcomer
Macy Witt-Nobles (Rosharon, Texas) led the Bison charge with a match-leading nine kills apiece.
MATCHUP PREVIEWS
HOWARD
HU (10-11, 7-0 MEAC) seeks to remain undefeated in league play as they prepare for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament, held inside The Burr (Nov. 22-24). The club looks to get above .500 for the first time since Aug. 30.
Porter continues to pace the Bison attack, leading the MEAC in hitting percentage (.360).
NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
North Carolina Central (5-19, 4-4 MEAC) enters Friday's showdown holding the No. 2 spot in the MEAC Southern Division. Despite dropping their nonconference bout at Charlotte, 0-3, the Eagles have won their last two league matches against Delaware State, 3-2, and Maryland Eastern Shore, 3-1.
McKayla Young and Ammaarah Williams are NCCU's big hitters, ranking among the league leaders in hitting percentage.
NORTH CAROLINA A&T STATE
For NCAT (10-12, 8-0 MEAC), they will square off against Norfolk State Friday before making the trip to D.C. North Carolina A&T State sits atop the MEAC Southern Division with an unblemished mark.
NCAT leads the conference in multiple categories, including hitting percentage (.198), kills (12.37) and blocks (2.03).
PROMOTIONS
Friday's promotion is Costume Night where fans with the best dress costume will have a chance to win prizes.
Sunday's promotion is Youth Day where youngsters enter the doors for only $1 and receive a candy bag giveaway. Additionally, the winner from Friday's costume contest will be announced and must be present to win.
UPCOMING SEASON
Next weekend, Howard goes to Baltimore for a pair of rematches.
Friday (Nov. 1), HU takes on Morgan State at 6 p.m., followed by a short trip to Coppin State (Sunday). Match time is slated for 1 p.m.
