WASHINGTON (October 18, 2019) – Howard University women's volleyball team cruised past Norfolk State (25-18, 25-13, 25-15) and remained unblemished in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play.
With the win, HU improved to 7-0 in league play.

Kira Porter (Lake Tahoe, Nev.) and newcomer
Macy Witt-Nobles (Rosharon, Texas) led the Bison charge with a match-leading nine kills apiece.
Norfolk State (NSU) jumped out to an early advantage in the opening set, but the Bison fought their way back and took the set lead after back-to-back kills from Witt-Nobles and fellow classmate
Tamar Wells (Apopka, Fla.), 16-15. NSU tied the game at 16, but HU would regain the upper hand and take set one, 25-18.
Sets two and three witnessed Howard take control, winning game both games by double digits while extending its winning streak to seven.
HU racked up 11 service aces, led by junior libero
Fola Wilson (Minneapolis) with a match-best five service aces. Additionally, the Minnesota native reached the 1,000-dig plateau after recording six digs in the victory.
For NSU (1-15, 1-6 MEAC), Julisa Carrizosa had seven kills and six digs in a losing effort.
Next weekend, HU concludes its home stand with a pair of foes from the Tar Heel state.
Friday (Oct. 25), Howard takes on North Carolina Central at 6 p.m., followed by a MEAC Finals rematch against North Carolina A&T State Sunday (Oct. 27). First-serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
