.@HowardBison_WBB Hosts Rematch Against Maryland Eastern Shore

WASHINGTON -- The Howard University women's basketball team continues its home slate with a conference rematch on Monday against Maryland Eastern Shore. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium.

LAST TIMEOUT 
Howard women's basketball team (11-8, 4-2 MEAC) defeated the Delaware State Hornets 78-62.  Sarah Edmond had a team high 20 points and five rebounds. Imani Bryant had a double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Ayonna Williams added 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists. The Bison outrebounded the Hornets, 52-35.

GAME PREVIEW
The Bison are facing the Hawks (10-10, 6-1 MEAC) for the second time this season. In the first contest at Maryland Eastern Shore the Bison fell 80-72 after leading for most of the game. Sophomore Jayla Thornton finished with 15 points. Classmate Tariah Johnson added 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

The Hawks' Ciani Byrom finished with a game high 31 points to go along with six assists and four rebounds to lead the Hawks. Brooklyn Bailey added 12 points.

The Hawks recently celebrated a 59-43 win at Norfolk State and moved to second place in the standings. The Hawks forced 25 turnovers and held Norfolk to 30 percent from the field. Byrom finished with 11 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and a steal.

The Bison are averaging 70.4 points per game while holding their opponents to 67.8 ppg. The Hawks are averaging slightly less with 65.2 ppg and holding their opponents to 62.4 ppg.

Howard freshman Krislyn Marsh is the conference's current Rookie of the Week.
