BALTIMORE (February 5, 2018) – Coach
Ty Grace and the Howard University Women's Basketball team picked up a big road win at Morgan State (MSU), 68-61, inside the Hill Field House.
With the victory, Howard improved to 5-4 in league play while moving past Morgan State in the standings.
Howard scored 26 points off the bench, led by sharpshooter freshman
Jayla Thornton. The New Jersey native produced all 15 points (team-high) from downtown (5-of-10). Sophomore
Jayla Myles made her presence felt on both ends, finishing with her fourth double-double of the season (11 points and 10 boards) while rejecting three shots in the victory.
Moments after intermission, Myles connected on a jumper and gave HU its largest lead of the game, 40-23. MSU cut the deficit as low as 11, but Howard held a 15-point advantage after three, 54-39.
With less than six minutes remaining, MSU's Braennan Farrar cut the margin to single-digits, 59-51, but the Bison kept Morgan State at bay.

Sarah Edmond added 10 points and six dimes while newcomer
Curstyn Moore provided nine points and four rebounds in the win.
After taking an early 19-13 lead, Thornton showed off her skills from long range. In the second, she erupted for 12 points, including four trey balls.
Howard took a 36-23 advantage at the break.
Morgan State suffered only their second home loss of the season (9-2). Adre'onia Coleman manufactured a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards while Farrar had a game-best 19 points in the loss.
Thursday (Feb. 8), Howard returns to The Burr where they host Hampton in the next chapter of the Battle of the Real HU. Game-time is set for 5:30 p.m.
