WASHINGTON (February 16, 2018) – With only five conference games remaining before the tournament, Coach
Ty Grace and the Howard University Women's Basketball team are looking to build momentum as postseason play approaches.
Saturday (Feb. 17), the Bison take on North Carolina A&T State (NCAT). Tip-off at 2 p.m. Two days later (Feb. 19), HU squares off against North Carolina Central (NCCU). Game-time is set for 4 p.m.

MATCHUP PREVIEWS
HOWARD
HU (10-14, 6-5 MEAC) saw its three-game winning streak snapped by Maryland Eastern Shore Monday (Feb. 12). Currently, Howard (10-14 Overall, 6-5 MEAC) sits in sixth place in the league standings. Sophomore guard
Sarah Edmond leads the Bison with 13.0 points per game while ranking sixth in the MEAC with 3.3 assists per game. Classmate
Ayonna Williams compliments Edmond in the backcourt with 9.7 points and 3.1 assists per game and second-year center
Jayla Myles chips in 7.0 points and a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game.
NORTH CAROLINA A&T STATE
NCAT enters Saturday's showdown with a 10-1 mark in league play (15-8 overall) and second behind Bethune-Cookman. North Carolina A&T State's lone loss came versus Hampton, 63-51, inside the Corbett Sports Center. HU and Maryland Eastern Shore wrap up the Aggies home slate as the squad will conclude its regular season with three straight road contests.
NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
Before hosting HU, NCCU meets Maryland Eastern Shore Saturday (Feb. 17). North Carolina Central (6-18, 4-7 MEAC) returns home after dropping a pair of games in the Sunshine State to Florida A&M (84-81 OT) and Bethune-Cookman (57-47). Currently, the Eagles are tied for ninth place in the league standings, but within two games of sixth place

Ayonna Williams scored a career-high 29 points, but Howard came up short against the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks, 83-79, inside the Burr.
Despite holding the Hawks under 33-percent (28-of-85) shooting, Coach
Ty Grace and the Bison were plagued by 22 turnovers.
Second-year guard
Asia McCants added 14 points and four steals (game-high) off the bench while fellow classmate
Imani Bryant blocked six shots in a losing effort.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
HU returns to The Burr for their final two home games of the year.
Saturday (Feb. 24), Howard hosts Delaware State on Alumni Day. Tip-off at 2 p.m. Monday (Feb. 26), the Bison meet Norfolk State on Senior Night. Game-time is slated for 4 p.m.
