Coastal Carolina rallies to down Bison

SAVANNAH, Ga. (November 8, 2018) – After postponing Wednesday's Sun Belt (SBC) Quarterfinals due to inclement weather, the No. 5 Howard University Men's Soccer and No. 4 Coastal Carolina (CCU) were forced to move Thursday's match to Savannah, Ga. where the Chanticleers ended HU's season, 2-1, at Floyd E. Morris Field.

Near the 12-minute mark, junior Daniel Hart (Silver Spring, Md.) shot 14 yards out and put the Bison ahead at intermission, 1-0.

After the break, CCU's Tsiki Ntsabeleng had his original shot blocked, but rebounded with a score in top right corner to tie the match, 1-1.

Coastal Carolina's Tyrone Mondi put the Chanticleers ahead at the 65-minute mark to secure the victory.

Junior Carlos Caro (Silver Spring, Md.), SBC All-Conference honoree, had a match-high 10 saves in the loss.

Graduate Student Joel Cunningham (Spanish Town, Jamaica) alongside seniors Joe Hawes (Princeton, N.J.), Victor Guirma (New Paltz, N.Y.) and Lloyd Pierre (Trinidad & Tobago) played their final match for HU.

Coach Phillip Gyau and the Bison look to regroup as they continue their pursuit for a SBC Title next season.
