WASHINGTON (January 26, 2018) – Coach Ty Grace and the Howard University Women's Basketball team look to bounce back with another road win at Maryland Eastern Shore. Saturday's contest starts 2 p.m.

Howard (7-12, 3-3 MEAC) looks to bounce back after a 76-68 home loss against North Carolina A&T State. HU sits in a three-way tie for fifth in the conference standings. Sophomore Sarah Edmond leads the squad in scoring (13.7 ppg) but is a game-time decision after missing Monday's contest against the Aggies due to injury. Fellow classmate Ayonna Williams has stepped up her game as she is second on the team in scoring (8.8 ppg). Defensively, second-year center Jayla Myles, reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week, has averaged a double-double, 12.5 boards and 11.5 points, in the last two games.
 
Maryland Eastern Shore (5-14, 2-4 MEAC) wraps up its three-game home stretch before facing Coppin State in Baltimore (Jan. 29). Freshman Bairesha Gill-Miles has won five MEAC Rookie of the Week honors while averaging a team-leading 11.2 points per contest. Junior Ciani Byrom is second in scoring (9.0 ppg) after appearing in nine games this season.

Monday (Jan. 22), the Bison saw its three-game winning streak come to an end after a 76-68 loss against North Carolina A&T State inside Burr Gymnasium.

Williams recorded a team-high 18 points and eight rebounds while Myles registered her second straight double-double, finishing with 11 boards (game-high) and 10 points in the loss.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

HU returns to the hardwood next weekend where they host Florida A&M (Feb. 3) before traveling to Baltimore to meet Morgan State (Feb. 5). Saturday's clash begins 2 p.m. while Monday's showdown starts 5:30 p.m.
