Wednesday, HU picked up their first win of the season after knocking off Virginia Military Institute (VMI), 2-1, at Patchin Field.
Austin Williams and
Tyler Hartman each scored a goal while
Victor Guirma and
Andres Gomez provided assistance in both scores.
MATCHUP PREVIEW
HU and the Blackbirds have tied twice over the past couple seasons.
The LIU (0-5-1) comes in winless after falling to Siena on the road Friday, 2-0. Before the season the Blackbirds were projected to finish third in the Northeast Conference behind St. Francis (N.Y.) and Saint Francis.
This season, Howard (1-7) has fallen to two Northeast Conference teams so far, St. Francis-Brooklyn, 1-0, and Central Connecticut State, 3-1; however, picked up their first win of the season, 2-1, with a road victory against Virginia Military Institute.
