WASHINGTON (September 21, 2017) – After dropping a tough match Monday at Navy, the Howard Women's Soccer team continues its road trip with two conference matchups.
HU starts conference play Friday at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (UAPB). Match-time is slated for 4 p.m. (ET) Sunday, Howard closes out the road swing with Grambling State (GSU). The contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. (ET)
LAST TIMEOUT
HU was unable to slow down Navy's scoring attack as they lost, 6-0, at Glenn Warner Facility.
Collectively, nine different Bison took a shot, led by
Kela Gray with two attempts.
Defensively, Howard recorded eight saves in the loss.
MATCHUP PREVIEW
UAPB enters Friday's match winless (0-6). Arkansas Pine-Bluff has struggled scoring all season, accumulating only two goals. Mariah Johnson, All-SWAC Preseason First Team Defender, leads the squad on the defensive end.
Grambling State comes in after an overtime loss versus Louisiana Tech, 3-2. The club has won more games than a year ago under new head coach Justin Wager. GSU only returned three starters from last season with 17 newcomers this year.
