WASHINGTON (September 14, 2017) – After nearly two weeks away, the Howard Women's Soccer team returns home where the talented South Florida (USF) Bulls await. Match-time is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Greene Stadium.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Sept. 3, the Bison fell short to Robert Morris, 3-2, at Greene Stadium.
Whitney White and
Elexa Pierson each scored a goal in a losing effort.
Less than 10 minutes later, White tied the contest after
Aleeya Sawyer served up the assist.
In the second half,
Noelle McCullom assisted Pierson and pulled the squad within one; however, with timing running down, the Bison could not force extras.
MATCHUP PREVIEW
Similar to the Bison, South Florida (3-2) enters Friday's contest with nearly a two-week layoff. USF's previously scheduled matches were postponed due to Hurricane Irma. The squad won its first three outings, but lost the last two against Power Five foes North Carolina and The Ohio State.
For Howard (1-4), they look to shake off the rust and get back into the win column. With only one more match until conference play, Coach Brent Lieba and the Bison look to build momentum. Defensively, the Bison are led by conference preseason Defensive Player of the Year
Kendall Hamilton and Goalkeeper of the Year
Gabrielle Emilien.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Sept. 18, HU begins a three-match road trip in nearby Annapolis where they will meet Navy. Monday's showdown starts at 7 p.m.
