High Point, N.C. – The Howard Men's Soccer team began its 2017 campaign on a bitter note as they dropped a heartbreaker against High Point, 1-0, in Vert Stadium.
George Ekdahl scored the lone goal and propelled the Panthers to victory.
Overall, six different Bison took a shot, but were unable to put HU on the board.
After a scoreless 45 minutes of action, the Panthers' Siggi Benonysson assisted Ekdahl with the score at the 57:06 mark.
Defensively, keeper
Carlos Caro posted a match-high five saves in a losing effort.
For High Point (1-0), they had 18 opportunities and capitalized on only one.
Howard (0-1) continues its three-match road trip in Baltimore where the UMBC Retrievers await. Monday night's (Aug. 28) showdown starts at 7 p.m.
