WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Howard women's soccer team is getting ready for a pair of games at Greene Stadium this weekend, starting with its home opener against Mount St. Mary's (Md.) on Friday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. The Bison will welcome George Mason on Sunday, Aug. 27 for a 7 p.m. matchup.
Howard brings in a 0-2 record after starting the season last week with a pair of setbacks to Radford (3-0) and Longwood (0-1). Kela Gray paces the team with seven shots. Gabrielle Emilien has a 1.33 goals against average and .778 save percentage on 135 minutes in goal.
Mount St. Mary's is 1-1 to start the season after it picked up a 3-1 victory at Loyola and was edged out by UMBC, 1-0. The Bison trail 7-4-3 in the all-time series with the Mount. The two teams faced off last year, resulting in a 1-1 draw on the road. Both squads scored on penalty kicks.
George Mason is 0-2 after falling to Old Dominion (4-1) and Tennessee (1-0). When the two squads played a season ago, the visiting Bison dropped a 4-0 decision.
