LIVE STATS | LIVE VIDEO

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Howard men's soccer team will get the 2017 season started on Friday, Aug. 25 when the squad heads to High Point for a 4 p.m. matchup.

Head coach Phillip Gyau is going into his fourth season in charge of the Bison. The team finished the 2016 campaign at 2-15-3 overall and 1-4-0 in Sun Belt action. It was the first season with a pair of wins in two years.

Howard has 16 returners and six newcomers taking the field this season. When added to last year's large incoming class, the team's roster will feature 13 underclassmen. The Bison were also selected to finish sixth in the Sun Belt Preseason Poll.

Friday will be the first time in program history that Howard and High Point have met on the pitch. The Panthers went 11-4-4 in 2016, finishing second in the Big South with a 5-1-2 mark.
