PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (November 3, 2017) – Howard University Women's Soccer team saw their hopes for a third Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament title come to an end after a 3-1 loss versus Grambling State (GSU).
With the loss, HU witnessed six Bison play their final match: Jordan Bynoe; Gabrielle Emilien; Kela Gray; Noelle McCullom; Alexia Moore; and I-sis Wilson.
At the 21-minute mark, GSU's Florence David scored and put the Tigers ahead, 1-0.
With halftime approaching, Brittany Terry increased Grambling State's advantage on a penalty kick, 2-0.
GSU's Jasmine Smith scored, thanks to an assist from Kaylee Holt, and gave the Tigers' a commanding 3-0 lead at the 53-minute mark.
HU refused to go away as sophomore Hollie Cartwright put Howard on the board, thanks to an assist by Aleeya Sawyer, 3-1.

Brent Leiba and the Bison ended their 2017 campaign with a 9-10-1 overall record and 7-2-1 mark in conference play.
