BALTIMORE (November 18, 2017) – Coach
Nicholas Askew and the Howard Women's Swimming & Diving team fell at Loyola (Md.), 121-74. As a result, the Greyhounds ended HU's three-meet winning streak.
The women's 200 freestyle and medley relay teams earned HU's the team's Golden Goggles, HU's most outstanding female performer of the meet. The women honored included juniors
KaSandra Kaplan and
Latroya Pina, sophomores
Andreas Weech and
Leanne McMaster, freshman
DeAngela Fobbs.
The women's 200 freestyle relay team, consisting of Weech, McMaster, Fobbs, and Kaplan, claimed the top spot in the event.
The women's 200 medley relay team also took the top spot. Kaplan, Pina, Weech, and McMaster are part of the winning team while setting a new season best.
Individually, Kaplan placed first in the 200 individual medley with a 2:10.80 mark while Fobbs earned a new season best in the women's 100 Butterfly.
Weech posted a new time in the 100 freestyle (56.41).
Other notable Bison included senior
Kayla Walker posting a new season best in the women's 1000 freestyle and 100 Backstroke.
Senior
Danielle Brown registered a new season best in the women's 200 freestyle (2:03.35), followed by freshman
Courtney Cooper with a 2:10.20 mark.
Junior
D'Andria Hollins reset a new personal best with a 29.00 mark.
On Dec. 1-2, HU goes to Chesterfield, Va. for the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon College.
