WASHINGTON (November 1, 2017) – Howard University Men's Soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Coastal Carolina (CCU), 2-1, at Greene Stadium.
Howard took 11 shots, led by Javauni Garwood and JB Bien-Aime each taking two.
At the 24-minute mark, CCU got on the board thanks to an own goal by the Bison, 1-0.
In the final minute, Coastal Carolina's Miguel Gutierrez delivered a header into his own goal and forced overtime, 1-1.
More than three minutes into overtime, CCU's Romario Piggott scored the game winner to down HU, 2-1.
Defensively, Carlos Caro had a match-high nine saves in a losing effort.
Saturday, Howard ends the regular season with Hartwick on Senior Day. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
