BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (October 6, 2017) – Howard Women's Soccer team fell on the road at Alabama State (ASU), 4-1.
Despite outshooting the Hornets, 15-10, HU managed only one goal while ASU manufactured four.
Within the first 17 minutes, Alabama State's Ariela Lewis scored twice and put the Hornets' ahead at halftime, 2-0.
More than five minutes after intermission, Ilela Teggan increased the Hornets' advantage, 3-0.
Howard fought back and got on the board, thanks to a goal from
Jasmin Miller, 3-1.
At the 65-minute mark, Teggan delivered the insurance goal and put the contest out-of-reach.
Sunday's contest against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs start 1 p.m. (CT)/2 p.m. (ET).
