WASHINGTON (October 31, 2017) – Howard University Men's Soccer team battles the Coastal Carolina (CCU) Chanticleers in a midweek Sun Belt (SBC) showdown. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Greene Stadium.
MATCHUP PREVIEW
Coastal Carolina (8-6-1, 2-1 SBC) enters Wednesday's match a game behind Georgia State for the top spot in the conference. In league play, Frantzdy Pierrot is tied for first in total points (8) and total goals (4).
Currently, HU (1-12-2, 0-2-1 SBC) sits at the bottom of the conference standings with only two regular season matches remaining; however, both two contests are Sun Belt matches. Juniors Joel Cunningham, reigning SBC Defensive Player of the Week, and Victor Guirma spearhead the Bison attack, each with a team-leading four points.
LAST TIMEOUT
Howard rallied from a 3-0 deficit to pull within one, but came up short as the Georgia Southern Eagles held off the Bison, 4-2.
More than 10 minutes after halftime, Cunningham put HU on the board, 3-1.
At the 66-minute mark, sophomore Andres Gomez pulled the Bison within one after scoring a goal off the keeper's hands to far post, 3-2.

Saturday, Howard ends the regular season with Hartwick on Senior Day. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
