MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Howard women's soccer team was blanked by Robert Morris, 2-0, on Thursday afternoon at the North Athletic Complex. With the loss, the Bison are 2-3-1 this season.
Howard took a season-high 15 shots, putting six on goal but couldn't make it past the keeper. The Bison had four corner kicks, while the Colonials tallied a pair.
Sophomore Mackenzie Diotte and junior Gabrielle Emilien spent equal time in the goal, with Diotte getting the start and racking up eight saves. Emilien kept RMU from adding to its lead in the second half behind four rejections.
Junior Kela Gray and freshman Hollie Cartwright posted three shots apiece. The Bison had nine different players attempt to get a shot past RMU's goalkeeper Makenzie Shearson.
RMU scored both of its goal within four minutes in the first half. Kasia Bak recorded the assist on both goals put in by Jane Schleicher and Greer Monanhan.
Howard returns to Greene Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. to face Virginia Military Institute.
