WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Howard women's soccer team gets set for a pair of games this week. The Bison will visit Robert Morris on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 4 p.m. before returning to Greene Stadium to host Virginia Military Institute on Sunday, Sept. 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Howard has a 2-2-1 record after having more than a week off to prepare for these two matches. In their last outing, the Bison were blanked by Princeton, 4-0.
Through five games, Howard has five players with one goal. Senior Sandra Bond has a team-best three points (1g, 1a). Sophomore net-minder Mackenzie Diotte has spent 389 minutes in goal, having made 21 saves. She has a 2.03 goals against average and .700 saves percentage.
RMU picked up its first win of the season with a 1-0 overtime victory against Ohio on Sunday. The Colonials have a 1-6 mark and has four players with a goal thus far. When the two teams faced off last year, Howard rallied for a dramatic 3-2 triumph over RMU.
VMI is on a two-game losing streak after falling to Mount St. Mary's, 2-1. The Keydets are 3-4 overall this season and will take on Saint Francis (Pa.) on Friday before facing the Bison. Howard last played VMI on Aug. 22, 2014 when the Bison dropped a 2-1 decision.
