ATLANTA, Ga. – The Howard men's soccer team's season came to an end on Thursday night with a 2-0 loss to Georgia State in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Sun Belt Men's Soccer Championships at the GSU Soccer Complex.
Howard kept the match scoreless for 42 minutes thanks to a tough defensive effort but was ultimately outshot by a 16-3 margin.
Redshirt senior Kenneth Hersey stepped into the net for the final time as a Bison and recorded seven saves in his complete game.
Freshman Andres Gomez tallied a team-high two shots, while sophomore Gavin Boyer had one attempt.
Kawku Adu and Andrew Thompson scored for the Panthers (13-7-0).
The Bison conclude the 2016 campaign with a 2-15-3 overall record.
