WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Howard volleyball team is ready for a rematch of the 2015 MEAC Championship when it hosts Bethune-Cookman on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. in Burr Gymnasium. The Bison will head up I-95 to visit Coppin State on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m.
Friday's match will serve as Howard's Dig Pink Game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and the fight for a cure. Fans are asked to wear pink to show their support.
Howard (15-5) sits atop the MEAC Northern Division standings with a perfect 5-0 mark. The Bison were last in action against rival Hampton last Friday, where they picked up their fourth three-set conference victory.
Junior Khaila Donaldson leads the MEAC and has a spot in the national Division I standings to rank 49th in kills per set (4.00), 37th in points per set (4.66), 30th in total kills (288) and 28th in points (335.5).
Sophomore Tamia Dockery sits in first-place in the conference with 9.61 assists per set and 682 total helpers. Senior Morgan Marlbrough has a league-best 295 total digs.
The Wildcats (4-16) are third in the Southern Division with a 3-2 conference record. BCU is coming off a 1-1 weekend that started with a loss to N.C. A&T before getting a win at N.C. Central. The Bison swept last year's meetings with the Wildcats, including a 3-0 win to claim the 2015 MEAC Championship.
The Eagles (1-18) earned their first win of the 2016 season by taking down Delaware State, 3-0, last Friday before falling to Maryland Eastern Shore. When CSU came to the Burr less than two weeks ago, the Bison handed them a 3-0 defeat. The Eagles are currently sixth in the Northern Division.
