Bison Travel to Delaware State To Conclude Game

Dover, DE—The Howard University men's basketball team will conclude its unfinished game against Delaware State on Wednesday at 4:30 pm at Alumni Hall.

The Bison (8-10, 2-1 in the MEAC) met on January 11 in Dover and played the game, but it was suspended due to a clock malfunction at the 15:41 mark of the second half.  Attempts to correct the clock problem failed, so the remainder of the game was rescheduled for today.

Howard was leading 41-38 at the time as James "J-Byrd" Daniel, III and Marcel Boyd had combined for 8 of their team's 10 second half points.  The Hornets (1-16, 0-3 in the MEAC), who have lost three straight, were led by DeAndre Haywood, who had 18 of his team's points, all in the first half.

The Bison are looking to rebound from a heartbreaking 69-61 home loss to Harvard on Saturday in which Daniel, the team's leading scorer did not play due to an elbow injury.  He is listed as probable for today's game.  Daniel leads the nation in scoring with 28.5 points per game.  He had 16 points before the game was stopped.

Since that game, Delaware State dropped games at South Carolina State on Saturday and at Savannah State on Monday.

The game is important to the Bison as they try to stay in the MEAC race.  Howard has not completed its non-conference schedule and will play seven of its last 11 games at home.

NEXT UP: The Bison will host Florida A&M University on Saturday at 4 pm.
