NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ --- Despite going 1-2 over the weekend at the Rutgers University Invitational in New Jersey, the Howard women's volleyball team produced some stellar performances in its final tuneup before Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) begins next week.
VS RUTGERS (9/18 - L, 23-25,25-21,22-25,13-25)- Top Performer:
Katherine Broussard (12 kills, .306 hitting percentage, seven assists, four blocks (all assists); Broussard's stat line was one of her best since coming back from injury, particularly her season-high hitting percentage.

VS DUQUESNE (9/18 - W, 25-16,16-25,25-13,10-25,15-10)- Top Performer: Courtney Dalton (13 kills, .367 hitting percentage, two blocks (all assists); The freshman tied her season-high in kills and did so in a more accurate hitting performance. Her .367 mark (13-2-30) is a team high for a player with a minimum of 12 kills in a match.- Other Leaders: Kills - Joi Walls (11; first double digit effort of career); Assists - Dockery (27; season high); Service Aces - Khaila Donaldson & Briana Jackson (2); Digs - Morgan Marlbrough (24); Blocks - Dominique Cleggett (5).- Fast Fact: Howard was very much in control of the sets it won. The Bison claimed the three odd-numbered sets from wire-to-wire with only one tie.VS PRINCETON (9/19 - L, 25-23,23-25,25-17,22-25,8-15)- Top Performer: Donaldson (23 kills, .356 hitting percentage, 11 digs, two service aces). Donaldson's kill total set a new career high for the sophomore, besting her 21-kill effort against George Mason (8/29) in the 2014 season opener. Her dig tally also gave her a team-leading 5th double-double.- Other Leaders: Assists - Tamia Dockery (31, topped previous game's season high); Digs - Morgan Marlbrough (16); Blocks - Dominique Cleggett & Olubunmi Okunade (6).- Best Set: Howard won set two thanks to a match-high .290 hitting percentage (11 kiils-2 errors-31 attempts) and a 75 percent (15-20) sideout mark.- Of Note: Four players posted double digit kills against Princeton: Donaldson, Broussard (13), Okunade (10) and Dalton (10). Broussard also had a double-double as she made 13 digs in the match.
