ORMOND BEACH, FL --- The Howard softball team (N4) saw its breakthrough 2015 campaign come to a close on Thursday afternoon after the Lady Bison were defeated, 10-2, by the Hampton Lady Pirates (N3) in Game 5 of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex.

Redshirt junior and First Team All-MEAC selection Al'Asia Davis led Howard (14-29) as she has done all season, going 3-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Sophomore Milan Poindexter scored the team's other run while sophomore Alex Flynn recorded a RBI.

HU scored a each in the first and fifth innings but failed to contain the Hampton offense (20-15) as the Lady Pirates plated runs in four of the game's five innings.

Overall, the Lady Bison program will be able to build on making the conference tournament for the first time since 2011 and winning its most games since that '11 season.
