PRINCESS ANNE, MD --- After reaching the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship Game in 2014, the Howard women's volleyball team has made its way back to the conference's final match in 2015.
The Bison will face the Bethune-Cookman University Lady Wildcats on Sunday, November 22 at Noon in a North vs South No. 1 seed battle for the MEAC Championship and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The matchup will be broadcast on ESPN3 live at Noon and will re-air at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
FAST FACTS-Â Â Howard overcame a challenging beginning to the 2015 season to return to within one win of the MEA(C title. The Bison lost junior middle blocker
Whitney Fields for the year before the season began and coupled with an eight-game injury-delayed in junior outside hitter
Katherine Broussard's campaign, Howard stumbled to a 1-7 record to begin the season. Another 2-5 slate over the next five games and the Bison went into MEAC play with a 6-12 overall record.
-Â Â Â Â However, the Bison hit their stride against conference competition, going 11-1 in the team's 12 MEAC contests and
beating B-CU in what eventually became a tournament preview.
-Â Â The matchup will pit the last two MEAC Coaches of the Year (Shaun Kupferberg - 2014, Brittany Williams - 2015).
WHAT'S AT STAKE / OTHER NOTES-Â Â Â Â Howard will be looking to earn its eighth MEAC Championship and first since 1994, when the Bison were the first team to accept the MEAC's newly minted NCAA Tournament bid (lost to George Mason in a Play-In Game)
-  Bethune-Cookman will be playing in the MEAC Championship game for the first time ever and will look to earn its first title. Â
