Shavonne Duckett had 16, redshirt freshman
Te'Shya Heslip added 12 and sophomore center
Victoria Gonzalez had ten for Howard (10-13, 6-4 MEAC).
Brown has been on a tear as of late, as the Silver Spring native has averaged 14.7 PPG over the last four games and put up 20+ points twice after never scoring more than 13 previously in her career. Brown shot the ball extremely well against the Spartans as well, going 10-of-16 (62.5 percent) from the floor.
Duckett scored in double figures for the third straight game, tying her season-best streak from November 26 - December 1. Her six rebounds gave her a streak of seven straight games with at least six rebounds.
Heslip struggled from the floor (1-of-7) but still made solid contributions - she recorded her third game of hitting 10+ free throws (nailing all ten of her attempts in scoring Howard's final points of the game) and still nearly recorded a triple double with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Gonzalez played her fewest minutes of the season (19 minutes) and still reached double figures for the 12th time in 21 contests.
Howard led Norfolk State (10-11, 6-4 MEAC) from the opening tip and pushed out to a 20-7 lead halfway through the first half. The Spartans cut HU's lead to three (53-50) with 7:33 to go in the game but the Lady Bison kept NSU at bay by outscoring them 24-13 the rest of the game.
Howard will head to Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday, February 15 for a 2:00 pm matchup.
