Williamsburg, VA—The Howard University men's basketball team will be looking to extend its early season win streak to two when they take on the Tribe of William & Mary at the Kaplan Arena at William and Mary Hall.
The Bison (1-1) are coming off a 101-54 home victory over Goucher College on Sunday. In that game, Howard got scoring from all quarters, most notably from James "JC" Carlton (18 points, 7 rebounds), James "J-Byrd" Daniel (17 points, 4 assists) and James "JT" Miller (12 points, 6 rebounds).
Following a lackluster performance in the opener at the University of Miami, Howard rebounded from a poor shooting performance (28 percent) with a 51 percent shooting display.
In the Tribe (0-1), the Bison face a team that is coming off a 68-45 loss at nationally ranked Florida on Friday and features Omar Prewitt and Marcus Thornton as their primary scorers. Prewitt averages 15 points per game while Thornton, who has had good games against Howard in the past, averages 10.0 points.
The two schools have split the last two games, with the Bison winning last year behind a 40-point performance from
Prince Okoroh. William and Mary leads the series, 3-1.
