WASHINGTON, DC --- In a battle of top Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) programs with 4-1 conference records, the Howard women's volleyball team dominated the visiting Morgan State Lady Bears, 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-21) on Thursday evening in Burr Gymnasium.
Freshman outside hitter
Khaila Donaldson posted 11 kills for Howard (12-9, 5-1 MEAC), who won their third straight game, improved to 3-1 overall at home and maintained their second place position in the MEAC North Division - one game ahead of Morgan State (11-8, 4-2 MEAC). Donaldson's double digit kills performance was her sixth in a row and 19th in 21 contests to open her career. Katherine Broussard led all Lady Bison with nine digs.
Overall, Howard were never threatened in the match. The Lady Bison never trailed past point seven in either of the first two sets and went wire-to-wire in set three in recording their fifth shutout of the year.
Howard will embark on a two-game road trip beginning with an October 24 matchup with Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, MD. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
