Howard University will open the 2013 season in the Seventh Annual Bender Blue Out against American University on Friday at 5 pm. Their match will precede the clash between George Mason University and Georgetown at 7 pm. Both matches will be played at the Patriot Center.

The action will move to Bender Arena as the host American takes on Georgetown at 11 am. The Bison will take the court against George Mason University at 1 pm and will close out with a 5 pm showdown against Georgetown.

Second year coach Shaun Kupferberg boasts one of the top recruiting classes in recent history. He will be looking to get leadership from junior Setter Stephanie Shults, junior middle blocker Assata Conway and junior outside hitter Skyler Arbuckle.
