Lynchburg, VA—The Bison, coming off a thrilling 64-62 overtime win over Delaware State on Sunday, are hoping to make it two in a row when they take on the Flames of Liberty University tonight at 7 pm.
Howard (3-11) had another outstanding performance from
Prince Okoroh, who led all scorers with 21 while grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds. But he got welcomed help from other quarters. Freshman guard James "JT" Miller contributed 15 points, including the game winner and freshman forward Solomon "Solo" Mangham contributed 12. And last, but not least, red-shirt sophomore center
Oliver Ellison contributed mightily with nine points and seven rebounds.
Howard head coach
Kevin Nickelberry is hoping that this kind of production carries over to tonight's contest against Liberty (4-6), which is coming off a 77-71 loss at Austin Peay that snapped a three-game win streak.
The Flames lost for the first time to the Bison last season, 60-53 at Burr Gymnasium. Liberty leads the series, 2-1.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and on MASN.
It will close out a nine-day, five-game road trip. The Bison get a much needed break and will not play again until they face the University of Southern California on December 29 in Los Angeles, CA.
