Box Score WASHINGTON, DC --- Behind a balanced team effort, the Howard University Volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep of University of Maryland Eastern Shore Friday evening in Burr Gymnasium. The win gave the Lady Bison their first season sweep over a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponent.
Seven players notched at least three kills for Howard (17-8, 6-2 MEAC), led by junior
Assata Conway and freshman
Katherine Broussard. Conway (9) and Broussard (8) combined for 17 of the team's 37 kills, with each of their totals leading all players. Juniors
Allyson Lods and
Stephanie Shultis claimed their usual spots atop the game's digs and assists totals, tallying 12 and 22 respectively.
HU's win over UMES (3-17, 2-6 MEAC) comes after a 3-1 win over the Hawks on October 4, 2013.
Howard will play its final home game of the regular season to cap off Homecoming 2013. The Lady Bison will take on Delaware State University on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 3:00 PM.
