Dr. Michael Merrick is the Director of Rehabilitation for Howard University Sports Medicine program in Washington D.C.
A Washington D.C. native, he graduated with honors at Howard University in 2003 where he received his Bachelor in Science. He then furthered his studies and graduated with honors in 2003 with a Masters of Physical Therapy, followed by receiving his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Howard University in 2012. Since becoming a Sports Physical Therapist in 2007, he has rehabilitated over 500 high school, collegiate, and professional athletes from around the world. Dr. Merrick is currently an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Dr. Merrick currently holds several leadership positions and organizations. He currently sits on the Alumni Advisory Council board for the Howard University Physical Therapy Department, which oversees student performance in conjunction with the modern changes and enhancements of today's Physical Therapy. Dr. Merrick is a Howard University Alumni Admissions Representative, which assists the admission committee in reviewing and interviewing applicants applying to the Physical Therapy Program. He also has severed as Alumni Liaison and currently provides mentoring for the Howard University Physical Therapy students.
