Howard University Athletics

In 2022, Jaon Ahmad joined the Howard University women’s soccer program as an assistant coach.

In 2025, HU posted a 9-7-3 overall mark (7-2-2 NEC) and made the NEC Tournament for the third straight season. After the regular season, four Bison earned NEC postseason honors: Bre'Elle Dean (All-NEC Second Team); Gabriella Garcia-Terrell (All-NEC First Team); Rachel Suttle (All-NEC Second Team) and Samantha James (All-NEC Second Team). Off the field, a dozen Bison received NEC Academic Honor Roll.

During the 2024 season, Ahmad helped support the Bison to their first NEC (Northeast Conference) Regular Season and Tournament Championships and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. His responsibilities include recruiting coordination, player evaluation, college pathway development and assisting with the overall growth and culture of the program.

In 2023, Howard rebounded after a 3-11-2 mark (2-6-1 NEC) during the 2022 campaign, finishing with a 12-6-2 record (6-3-1 NEC) while earning its first NEC Tournament berth. After the regular season, five Bison earned NEC Postseason honors, highlighted by Trinity Knox winning NEC Goalkeeper of the Year.

Prior to Howard, Ahmad built an extensive background in player development, recruiting strategy and leadership within the ECNL and Girls Academy landscape. He has served and currently serves as an ECNL coach and College Recruiting Coordinator, helping guide prospective student-athletes and families through the evolving college recruiting process while building relationships with collegiate programs across all levels of the game.

Ahmad holds a USSF B License, is an ISPAS Accredited Performance Analyst, and also holds TOVO coaching certifications.
