Jalisa Fulwood joins Howard University after a four-year stint in the Southern Athletic Association where she served as Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN after presiding as Digital Media Production Assistant at Centre College.
During her time at Rhodes, Fulwood was responsible for designing, editing, and posting content across all social media platforms covering 21 varsity sports. The Clarksville, VA native served as Broadcast Director for home events as well as home photographer and videographer.
While at Centre, she was primarily responsible for Centre's digital media content, largely focusing on video features, live streaming, student interns, and social media management.
Fulwood served as a member of Centre Athletics' External Relations committee, which collaborated on fundraising, fan engagement ideas, Special Olympics KY, social media promotions, and other inclusive opportunities for the department.
At Centre, Fulwood also served as a member of the college's 2018-19 rebranding committee, which introduced a unique and inclusive set of secondary and tertiary logos to accompany the "Primary C" and wordmarks originally adopted in 2015.
Fulwood graduated from James Madison University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management. While at JMU, Fulwood gained hands on experience in the sports industry first as a women's basketball practicum student, and later interning as a video content assistant in the athletic communications office. Fulwood also served as a team videographer for the Dukes' prestigious football program during a national championship season.
