Daniel K. Bellamy, MS, ATC, PES

Daniel Bellamy will be embarking on his first year as Howard's Director of Sports Medicine in 2015-16. In his new role, Bellamy will be responsible for managing medical care for all Bison student-athletes, along with direct responsibilty of the Football, Women's Bowling and Men's & Women's Tennis programs.

This will be Bellamy's second stint at Howard, having served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Bison from 2011-2013.

Prior to his return to Howard, Bellamy served as the Director of Sports Medicine for fellow MEAC member Coppin State University. While at CSU, he helped to ensure that all student-athletes were afforded access to adequate medical care. He was responsible for primary medical coverage for Men's Basketball, Men's Track & Field, and Baseball. Bellamy was also integral in forming partnerships with Medstar Union Memorial Hospital and Advanced Radiology to improve patient access to medical care.

During his time as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at HU (2011-2013), Bellamy primarily worked with Men's Soccer, Men's Basketball, Track & Field and Tennis.

Before joining the Bison family the first time, Bellamy gained a wealth of experience working as the Athletic Trainer for Archbishop Carroll High School in D.C. from 2008-2011. During that time, he also served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the D.C. Armor of the American Indoor Football Association's (AIFA). 

Bellamy has also served as an intern with the NFL's San Diego Chargers during the 2007 season.

Bellamy holds a Bachelor's Degree from North Carolina Central University and a Master's Degree with a focus on Performance Enhancement & Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania.

Daniel and his wife, Brittney, have three children,  Darren, Brielle, and Britain, and reside in Cheverly, Maryland.
