Brandon Torrey

A member of the New York Giants squad that defeated the unbeaten New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, Brandon Torrey has been named the Offensive Line Coach at Howard University.

Torrey returns to his alma mater after spending four years in the NFL, which included stops with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans and Giants.

The former offensive tackle was a member of Howard’s football program from 2002-2004. Torrey started as a true freshman and went on to set the record for most consecutive starts. In his first season, he was recognized as one of the top 10 guards in the nation in Division IAA.

During his years in a Bison uniform, he was a First Team All-MEAC selection and Second Team All-American. In 2004, Torrey was chosen to represent Howard in the HBCU All-Star Classic, where he earned a starting position and played more snaps than any other player on offense. He was named Metropolitan Player of the Year by the Pig Skin Club. Torrey received the award alongside Larry Fitzgerald, who won the award for Offensive Player of the Year.

Torrey attended Northern High School in Durham, N.C., where he played one year on the offensive line. He currently lives in Silver Spring, Md.
