Mission Statement
The athletics compliance office functions within the scope of Howard to coordinate, monitor and verify compliance within the extension of the NCAA, MEAC, all affiliate conferences and the institution, as it relates to rules and regulations. In order to accomplish this task, the compliance office embodies the concept and principles of shared responsibility that encompasses a comprehensive rules-education initiative that will mold and shape a proactive, responsive and efficient NCAA rules-compliance program.
As the athletics compliance staff, we embrace the concept that we act as a resource center concerning NCAA and MEAC regulations and compliance issues. We endeavor to oversee and verify the accuracy of completion of NCAA required policies and procedures. In addition, we will provide educational and interpretive support to ensure that all individuals involved with the athletics program fully understand the institution’s initiatives to sustain a high level of compliance. With one of the core values being compliance within the framework of the department of athletics, we will continue to ensure that the demands and expectations of the NCAA and Howard are properly supported and implemented.
