MOUNT JOY, Pa. (February 8, 2026) - Over the course of the three-day (Feb. 6-8) Mount Shootout Tournament, hosted by Mount St. Mary's University in Mount Joy, Pa., the Howard University women's bowling team recorded three wins, including a pair of victories against nationally ranked NTCA (National Tenpin Coaches Association) opponents.

The tournament started with a tense battle against conference rival Morgan State University where the Bison fell (824-913). Friday's (Feb. 6) Baker matches included tough losses to nationally ranked No. 9 Mount St. Mary's (823-1088) and No. 22 Duquesne University (858-966).

Howard rebounded Saturday (Feb. 7) with over nationally ranked No. 20 Bryant University (993-958) and No. 23 Kutztown University (1014-984) in traditional matches. The Bison nearly defeated Molloy University, falling only 14 total pinfalls (927-941).

th out of 106 bowlers, rolling over 200 in four games, including a 249.

Overall, the Bison went 3-10.

Sunday (Feb. 8), HU closed out the tournament with a 4-1 win over Alvernia University.

The next upcoming tournament for the Bison is the MEAC Meet No. 2, taking place Feb. 21-22 in Norfolk, Va.
