CHICAGO & PHILADELPHIA (February 7, 2026) – Howard University women's track & field team closed out the indoor regular season with a pair of meets: Badger's Windy City Invitational (Feb. 6-7), hosted by Wisconsin, and the Penn Classic (Feb. 6-7), hosted by the Quakers.
WINDY CITY INVITATIONAL
Leading the way in the 200-meter dash with a first place time of 24.04 is senior
Zoe Turner (Mableton, Ga).
Sophomore
Lindsay Johnson (Detroit) placed second in the 400-meter dash with a 55.76 mark. Turner also competed in the race, finishing fifth overall (54.99).
In the field, senior
Kelis Armstrong (Houston) took second place for triple jump with a mark of
12.47 meters (40'11"). The Houston native, along with fellow classmate
Ija Mumford (Winston-Salem, N.C.), participated in the long jump where they earned seventh (5.34 meters) and eighth (4.93 meters), respectively.
Other notable performance on the track included rookie
Gabby White (Silver Spring, Md.) earning eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.54).
In shot put, senior
Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) and freshman
Mmekom Inyang (Richmond Hill, Ga.) grabbed first (18.31 meters) and second (12.74 meters), respectively.
PENN CLASSIC
With a mark of 5:10, sophomore
Ester Kirk (Morristown, N.J.) took sixth place in the 1-mile run.
Senior
Sanaa Morris (Bermuda), sophomores
Tiffany Mugubi (Houston) and
Kendall Robinson (Bowie, Md.) and freshman
Alexis Jones (New Windsor, N.Y.) grabbed second overall in the DMR, clocking in at 12:06.10.
In the field, sophomore
Kinnidi Hampton (Rowlette, Texas) received a mark of 12.93 meters (42'5.25") in the shot put, earning a ninth-place ranking.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Feb. 22-23, Howard is set to compete in the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Indoor Track & Field Championships, taking place in Virginia Beach, Va.
