WASHINGTON (February 5, 2026) - Howard University women's bowling team returns to the annual Mount Shootout, hosted by Mount St. Mary's University, in Mount Joy, Penn. The three-day tournament starts Friday (Feb. 6) and concludes Sunday (Feb. 8).

On Jan. 16-18, the team played at the Northeast Classic in New Castle, Del. At the tournament's end, they placed 31
st overall with five wins.

Sophomore
Kira Taylor (Hockley, Texas) was a bright spot during the tournament, competing in all five traditional matches while recording 820 total pinfalls.

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW

The Mount Shootout will have a Baker pinfall Friday and traditional play Saturday Feb. 7). Sunday features three Baker best-of-seven rounds.

The Bison last made an appearance at the shootout during the 2023-24 season. In this showing, the team placed 13
th overall.

The opponents the Bison will face include: Alvernia University; Bryant University; Duquesne University; FDU; Holy Family University; Kutztown University; Mercyhurst University; Molloy University; Morgan State University; Mount St. Mary's University (hosts); Niagara University; University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Wagner College.
