PHILADELPHIA (January 24, 2026) – Howard University women's track & field squad saw three school benchmarks fall at the Penn 10 Elite, hosted by the Quakers.
Freshman
Mmekom Inyang (Richmond Hill, Ga.) opened the weekend with a new school record in the pentathlon, tallying 3,564 points. Overall, the Georgia native placed 11
th on the leaderboard.
Fellow classmate
Alexis Jones (New Windsor, N.Y.) ran a new program best in the mile race, clocking in at 4:49.16. The New York product earned 13
th place overall.
Second-year Bison
Tiffany Mugubi (Houston) finished fourth in the 800-meter run after recording a new school record (2:07.44).

Zoe Turner (Mableton, Ga.), sophomore
Lindsay Johnson (Detroit) and newcomer
Carrie Vannoy (Oak Park, Mich.) represented Bison Nation in the 4x400 relay, earning silver with a 3:40.91 time.
Turner and junior
Mackenzie Robinson (Ypsilanti, Mich.) competed in the 200-meter dash, placing fourth (24.12) and sixth (24.36), respectively.
DMV native rookie
Gabby White (Silver Spring, Md.) grabbed bronze in the 60-meter hurdles, producing an 8.56 mark.
Other notable performances on the track included junior
Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.) taking seventh place in the 60-meter dash (7.58).
In the field, reigning MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Field Athlete of the Week senior
Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) secured fifth overall in the weight throw (17.60 meters).
On Jan. 30, HU returns to the City for the Brother Love (Philadelphia) for the Penn Invitational, hosted by the Quakers.
