BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (January 21, 2026) – The NEC revealed its men's and women's swimming & diving weekly accolades where Howard University saw five Bison recognized for their outstanding efforts against Towson, VMI and Saint Francis. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
Juniors
Mason Green (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and
Chanice Posada (Houston) won NEC Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week, respectively. Newcomers
Ayrton Moncur (Nassau, Bahamas) and
Brooke Whitt (Chicago) claimed Men's and Women's Rookie of the Week, respectively. Second-year Bison
Zion Wilson (San Antonio) took home the league's Men's Diver of the Week.
Green took first place in the 100 Fly versus Towson (Jan. 14), registering a NEC-best and CSCAA B-cut time of 48.07.
Saturday (Jan. 17), Posada led the 200 Medley Relay squad to victory in the tri-meet against VMI and Saint Francis, posting a leadoff 25.24 time, which qualified as a CSCAA B-cut mark.
Moncur earned his first NEC weekly award after winning the 50 Breast with a 26.41 mark, which ranks sixth in the conference.
Whitt picked up her first NEC Rookie of the Week nod after posting three wins: 100 Breast (1:05.89); 50 Breast (30.03) and 200 Medley Relay (30.31, second-leg).
Wilson became the third Bison to win NEC Diver of the Week this season after claiming victory in the 1-meter dive at VMI with an impressive 264.38 score.
All five Bison, along with senior
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) and sophomore
Mark Brown (Greensboro, N.C.), made the NEC Prime Performers list.
Central Connecticut State's Jewelle Maziarz grabbed NEC Women's Diver of the Week.
On Jan. 31, HU faces Catholic on Senior Day. First race is scheduled for 1 p.m.
