WASHINGTON (July 31, 2025) – Stats Performs revealed its second annual HBCU+ FCS National Player of the Year Award Preseason Watch List where Howard University saw defensive lineman
Noah Miles (Tampa, Fla.) among the 20 honorees. The announcement came Thursday morning.
Earlier this week (July 28), the Florida native was selected to the East-West Shrine Bowl 100 list. On July 15, Miles was named to the 2025 STATS Perform FCS Preseason All-America Team. A week later (July 22), he made the Preseason All-MEAC First Team.
A year ago, Miles finished among the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) leaders in tackles for loss (4
th) and sacks (4
th). He played 11 contests, racking up 35 total tackles (21 solos), including 11.5 tackles for losses, with eight sacks, a pass breakup, a forced fumble and a blocked kick.
The Stats Perform HBCU National Player of the Year Award honors the outstanding player from the 21 HBCU programs of the NCAA Division I subdivision in the MEAC, Southwestern Athletic (SWAC), CAA (Coastal Athletic Association) Football and OVC (Ohio Valley Conference)-Big South conferences.
A national panel involving HBCU/FCS coverage will select the award winner after the regular season. All positions are eligible for the award.
The recipient will be announced Monday (Dec. 8), then honored at the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Presentation Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, in Nashville Tenn.
Howard opens the 2025 season against Florida A&M in the Orange Blossom Classic Saturday (Aug. 30). Kickoff is set for 4 p.m., at Hard Rock Stadium.
